L’Institut français de Bosnie-Herzégovine a le plaisir de vous inviter à l’ouverture de l’exposition « (Un)Finished House : The Monument » par Saša Tatić, qui sera accompagnée d’une rencontre entre l’artiste et Melody Robine (historienne de l’art et commissaire d’exposition). Cet événement est prévu le mardi 2 juillet 2024, de 17h à 18h30, à l’Institut français de Bosnie-Herzégovine à Sarajevo.
À travers une réflexion sur la maison familiale de l’artiste à Srbac, près de Banja Luka, l’exposition représente une exploration artistique du patrimoine domestique et du logement résidentiel en Bosnie-Herzégovine et dans les Balkans. Avec une série de photographies, d’œuvres vidéo, et sa tentative de faire reconnaître ces maisons (in)achevées — autrement destinées à l’anonymat — comme des monuments historiques, l’artiste nous invite à interroger l’importance des lieux quotidiens et la manière dont ils façonnent nos liens culturels, sociaux et émotionnels.
Originaire de Banja Luka, Saša Tatić vit et travaille à Berlin. Elle est cofondatrice de l’association artistique Fully Funded Residencies et membre du collectif CRVENA. Ses œuvres ont été présentées dans de nombreuses expositions personnelles et collectives en Allemagne, en Bosnie-Herzégovine, en Croatie et en Serbie. Le modérateur de cet événement sera Melody Robine, qui vit et travaille à Paris. Elle est doctorante en histoire de l’art contemporain à l’École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) et à l’Université Sorbonne, ainsi que commissaire d’exposition. Elle travaille également sur les pratiques participatives dans l’espace urbain en ex-Yougoslavie après 1980.

The French Institute of Bosnia-Herzegovina is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition (Un)finished house: The Monument by Saša Tatić, which will be accompanied by a meeting between the artist and Melody Robine (art historian and curator). It is scheduled on the 2nd of July 2024, from 5 pm. to 6.30 pm at the French Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo.
Through a reflection on the artist’s family home in Srbac, close to Banja Luka, the exhibition represents an artistic exploration of domestic heritage and residential housing in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Balkans. With a series of photographs, video works, and her attempt to have these (un)finished houses — otherwise destined to anonymity — officially recognized as historical monuments, the artist invites us to question the importance of everyday places and how they shape our cultural, social, and emotional ties.
Originally from Banja Luka, Saša Tatić lives and works in Berlin. She is the co-founder of the artistic association Fully Funded Residencies and a member of the CRVENA collective. The moderator of this event will be Melody Robine, who lives and works in Paris. She is a PhD candidate in contemporary art history at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) and Sorbonne University and a curator. She also works on participatory practices in the urban space in ex-Yugoslavia after 1980.
